But when you read it aloud, it sounds like “May Sixth, 2012”… So in Europe do they say “Sixth May, 2012”???
We put an “of” between the number and month. Remember, remember, the fifth of November, for instance!

so far nobody’s complained. i figure all the numbers are there somewhere, it’s all good. also incidently i never had to format my dates like that in japan, in school and on all of my time sheet paperwork it always used the european format (and i always copied my coworkers’ format for dating things, so…)
