MULDER HELP ME OUT HERE i’m postulating that the blood here is from a hand-wound, judging by the smears and their centering around the knob? or an arm wound. whatever it was, it was covered with a cloth and soaked through (or so i think) because i can’t see any actual palm or finger prints in the mess.  maybe it was actually a shoulder wound? where someone bled onto their arm/shoulder and leaned against the door as they opened it? the bulk of the splatter is closer to the knob, but that could just be because of blood pouring down the arm and centering there. forensics mysteries :o
